An Overview Of Mike Matei's "Minecraft With Gadget"

If you are frequent purveyor of our blog, you may know that we're HUGE fans of Cinemassacre - home of the brilliant web series, The Angry Video Game Nerd. Matei most notably works on Rolfe's famous Internet series The Angry Video Game Nerd , for which he co-writes, plays a variety of characters ( Jason Voorhees , The Cowardly Lion , The Joker , Leatherface , Bugs Bunny , a Klingon , Michael Myers , etc.), and illustrated the title cards for episodes 5-100 as well as 139.

The AVGN reviews Halloween (2600), Haunted House (2600), Frankenstein's Monster (2600) This is part 2 of the The Texas Chainsaw Massacre review. The Nerd would later guest star in various Channel Awesome shows, even appearing to review the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie with the Nostalgia Critic.

So, we were in a position where there wasn't going to be any new web-videos from James on the website for roughly half a year. In the course of the interview, our guest discussed many key points he's made in past videos, what has inspired him to create Zelda content on Cinemassacre, and why he enjoys the series so much.

Now that time has passed, you do appear on camera for segments such as James and Mike Mondays as well as your own personal reviews for games and other media. Mike: Monster Madness is my favorite series we do on Cinemassacre. The success of the show made Rolfe branch out into other gaming systems, and would later change the title into the Angry Video Game Nerd to prevent trademark issues with Nintendo.

AVGN is not a real person, but a character created and played by James Rolfe. The character, an alter ego of Matei, eventually crossed over into game reviews as well. Like it when the reviews shine a light on a game I never played. I wouldn't mind so much if he just had a separate channel on youtube doing his own thing, but every time I see a new video hoping it's James it's usually Mike.

What occurs next is where the video truly starts to pick up speed, as Gadget asks McGangBang Matei if he has the game Miney Crafta”. Recently, we had the opportunity to talk with Mike Matei about his role in content on Cinemassacre, his thoughts on several Zelda videos he's produced, and Mike Matei what he hopes to see Zelda do in the future.

In May 2004, Rolfe created his first on-camera game reviews just for fun; utilizing insult commentary with exaggerated bewilderment to two games; Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde under the title of "Bad NES Games", which would later become the signature of the Nerd character.

The AVGN reviews Silver Surfer (NES). So in total you have 1 + 34 + 34 = max of only 25 unique colors on screen at a time (without any code magic voodoo)… for each entry you can pick one of the unique 52 colors from the video generator, this is known today as the NES Palette.

Dressed up as a stereotypical nerd in his basement, the Nerd reviews the game with his trademark eyeglasses and white collared shirt with a pocket full of pens, high khaki pants and white socks and loafers, while sometimes being bombarded by guest characters from video games and popular culture as well.

I know there are many more Spider-man related games that were not covered here, such as maximum carnage, the Spider-man arcade game and so on. The point of this video was to look at the 3D environment spider-man games, since the next game coming in 2018 will be in that style.
